About Happy To Help Van

Happy to Help Van has its beginnings in 2014 when it was started as a sole trade business by Adam Starus. Since then we have provided our professional removal services to nearly 5,000 individual customers and numerous small businesses in Edinburgh and across the country. In 2019 we have become an incorporated company.

Adam was educated as a mechanical engineer and has had a car since he was allowed to own one at 18. When he arrived in Edinburgh with a dream of working hard on establishing his own business, he decided to buy a van, although he didn’t have a very clear idea of how to best use it for commercial purposes.

But Adam always liked to help people, some might have even said that he was a soft touch, so when he bought a van, requests for help with moving stuff began to pour in, first from friends, then from further afield. Adam realised that he had the foundation for a viable business. ‘‘This is how the company started – from my desire to help others,’’ says Adam. And this is why it is called Happy to Help Van.

The desire to be helpful, to ease the stress associated with moving and to make the process as smooth and hassle-free as possible, is still at the very heart of what we do.

Our fully equipped Luton vans with 4.2m load space and hydraulic tailgate lifts are among the largest vehicles of this type on the market and able to comfortably deal with removals of 2 to 3 bedroom properties – with several permanent members of the team available seven days a week. This allows us to provide flexible cover in case of the unexpected and ensures that we are 100% reliable.

We are fully insured for public liability and goods in transit for added piece of mind.
